Hello everyone. For those of you that own a 200 series LC, can you do me a big favor and measure the dimensions (W x H x L) of a 3rd row seat folded up? I'm really serious about getting a 200 series LC, and was surprised that the cargo space of a 4Runner is more than a LC with the 3rd rows seats folded. That just didn't make sense to me...until I though about the fact that the 3rd row seats in a LC aren't removable...they fold up to the sides. If I were to completely remove the 3rd row seats, then that should increase the cubic space. Thanks a lot!

I don't have measurements, but would add that MAAAAANY of us have simply remove the seats entirely. It makes a huge difference, and removal is pretty simple. Just a few bolts, and out they go.

If removed, the seats would free up the following approximate dimensions per seat: 9"w x 29"h x 24"d

This equals roughly 6,264 cubic inches or 3.625 cubic feet per seat.

Total for both seats would be 12,528 cubic inches or 7.25 cubic feet.

The short answer is:

They're too damned big and should have been made easily removeable in the first place! :mad:

Ya, the 100 series seats were designed for easy removal and re-mounting... No idea why they got lazy on the 200 seats.

This is exactly what I was looking for...thanks!!!

Have you compared the published cargo area loadspace volume of a GX (5 seater) vs a GXL (8 seater) sold in Australia? You can then convert Liters to Cubic Feet :)

Cargo area dimensions Standard

- Cargo area height (mm) 1100
- Cargo area loading floor height (mm) 850
- Cargo area loadspace volume (L) 1431

LandCruiser 200 GX Turbo Diesel Auto Specifications

1431L= 50.54ft³

Cargo area dimensions Standard
- Cargo area height (mm) 1100
- Cargo area loading floor height (mm) 850
- Cargo area loadspace volume (L) 1276

LandCruiser 200 GXL Petrol Auto Specifications

1276L= 45.06ft³

Not sure about dimensions but with the 3rd row installed and the second row folded the LC definitely holds >80 cu ft. As it turns out I needed 35 bags of mulch (2 cu ft per bag) this weekend. If it was't for the bushes I definitely could have carried 40 bags (and probably packed a few more in if I was really gutsy).

Photo below is with 35 bags loaded. Not as much sag as I would've expected, though I do have 5psi in the firestone helper air bags. My daughter and I weighed a bag when we got home and it came in at 41lbs. So the LC has no issue toting ~1700lbs around (mulch, passengers, and bushes). :-)

I just remove them when needed.. with a battery powered ratchet, it takes maybe 7 minutes total for both seats, including walking them into the garage for storage.

when it becomes a DD for me (soon hopefully), i'll do the opposite and just install them when needed, again keeping them in the garage.
I agree though, they should have been made like the 100 series and easily removed.

Could someone give me a measurement from the edge of one third row seat in the down position to the wheel well? I'm trying to find out if my fridge and slide will fit when I upgrade from 80 series to 200. Thanks!

Depth too please

When I bought my 200, coming from a 100 series, the fact that the third row seats weren’t removable was the ONE thing that drove me crazy. I’d just pull the seats in my 200, but they actually get used on a semi- regular basis...
