So far there are 3 reserved campsites 7,9 and 10 in the Crab Flats campground by 80's members for the night of the 16th and 17th. If anyone else would like to join in please let us know here is a link to the camp ground..

I plan on going up on Friday with Cathy and the kids, getting there after noon some time. Everyone is welcome bring the family and have some fun.... Hope to see everyone there, even if you only come up for the day to see some great cruisers and meet some fellow 80's owners...

Sounds good! I am at site 9 and will be there either late Friday night or at Asscrack dawn on Saturday AM.

I have a green 80 that will be hard to miss! :D

Here are some ROUGH GPS Coords for the campground:

Check this site for good info on some trails that are right near the campsite.

I vote that we run the Holcomb trail on Saturday!

Holcomb Creek Trail is a fun trail and the west end of it right out of Crab Flats has some pretty rocky sections. Definitely death to factory running boards but there is a couple mile loop that bypasses that and meets up with the trail to continue for anyone without rocker protection. Good fun.

Got the confirm from ReserveUSA and read the directions. I know exactly where this place is! I've seen the sign on the dirt road for the past 5 years. My scout troop always stays in Green Valley Lake when we go skiing and after getting into this sport, have always wondered and been tempted to explore that 4x4 marked road! I get the chance now - I'm stoked!

It is good fun and easy to get to. You just turn off left to Green Valley and follow it in. Marked with a big sign you can't miss it.

Great little pizza joint right down in Arrowbear too!

Going to a Pizza joint while camping? Isnt that against some sort of rules or something? :D

I guess after a hard day of wheeling, it might be a good idea! Hmmm Decisions!

Just heads up for everybody:http://www.ie4w.com/big_bear_ff_registration.htm

Damn! That sucks! Looks like they have a group departing at 7:30am & another at 8:30am. Maybe we can head out a little later to miss the masses? I shot their club prez an email to try to coordinate!

Thanks for the heads up, serious bummer. Not only will it be crowded but they will probably be mostly Heeps! Oh well should still be fun. We can amaze them with our 80 presence. :D

Kevin, good idea on the email, thanks for taking charge.

I looked they only seem to have 47 members so even if they get 50% participation that is only about 20 heeps ... we may be able to filter in with them and enjoy... and show them what it is like to wheel in comfort....and drive home at 70mph...

I know we bash heeps, but all of them that I've ever met on trails have been nice folks.

YOPO - Roberto Miranda wheels alot with an Orange County Heep group alot and has fun with them.

Having grown up with cj5's and an old flat head I am not apposed to jeeps just wish the quality was on par with toyota...... One of my best freinds wheels a new TJ with 35's... and really likes it... It would be fun to go with them and have a larger group...

There are only 2 heeps signed up (so far) for the 8:30am run on Holcomb Creek Trail. Probably won't affect us much at all.

Just so long as we stay off of John Bull or anything similar. I'm not up for rock bashing mini-Rubicon.
