Have a 94 in white. Going to address some of the rust ... the shop I got a quote from recommends not going single stage white.

Wondering if anyone here has done some restoration or paint work with white on their 80 series. Thanks!

I haven't but am about to. Please let us know what you do.

I think a lot probably depends upon what you want to use it for. For a trail rig, it'd be fine. For a nice street car, maybe not.

I painted a rally car with single stage white dupont and it came out good enough for a race car. I'll probably do the same with this one. My paint is already a wreck, so whatever I do will be better and at least a single color for the whole body. :)

Well, lots of time spent beach driving ... which I know isn't great for the truck overall, but leaning towards clear coat for the added protection, but afraid of the yellowing that might come with clear coat and losing that magical Toyota white

This had some info. I keep an eye on any stuff I can, as I’ll need it some day. White one here. Best color.

Most all modern automotive finishes are water-based and are 2 or 3 stage. You may not even be able to get single-stage enamel where you live.
