So there are three voices in that video, the maffs pilot, Lead plane pilot and the air attack. This gives you an idea of what I have been training for the last month. To act as a air attack captain. Stressful needless to say.

Wow, turning a chaotic situation into a choreographed airborne dance team..." watch out for the chopper and the smoke but get as low as you can then stay out of the way of the next one.."

I think my wife could do something like that but not me!!!

Landing gear....landing gear....landing gear.....!:hmm:

Can't they turn "her" off while you're working??:meh:

I'm finally caught up on all my "other" projects so I get to have a little fun now.
When I bought the MR2 it came with a set of brand new in the box TRD springs but the struts that were already on the car were shot so there was no point in just swapping them on. The springs are 50% stiffer and have a 3/4" drop besides that they are TRD which is sweet! A year ago a company was having a sale on some adjustable Koni's so I picked them up and they've been sitting on the shelf ever since. When I tore the front end apart I discovered that the brake pads and rotors were toast and there was no longer a protective boot to cover the shafts from pitting (always put a protective boot on your shaft). Ordered everything a week ago and finally got it all back together, just needs an alignment now. I've never taken apart anything with a strut "insert" before. I couldn't believe the thing was filled with its own oil besides the oil that was in the shock. Thought it was kinda interesting but a really odd way of doing things. Unfortunately the body of the insert covers up my shiny new Koni's, oh well.
Also took the time to fix the turn signal stalk, it made a strange buzzing noise every time you put on the signal to turn left. Bought a used one a year ago and just now put it on. GOOD TIMES!

What a POS! :flipoff2:

(I think I need to take that thing for a spin around the block :grinpimp:

I got some time off this week, and got some work done around the house and finished my wine barrel smoker. Cooking tri tip in it tonight. Come on over if you want.

I would like to say it was a success and you all missed out. Tomorrow night whole chicken smoked. I thought about taking it to mcgrew but it is somewhat large and most likely will not be traveling except on my deck.

You'll have to try a batch of salmon too. I love good smoked salmon, you can munch on it all day. Gotta hold back on the salt though, or you could double up on your HBP meds that day. Looks like the local meat outlet will be selling you a big variety of meats until you decide on your "favorite carne". It's a tough job but I think you're up to it. Keep us posted- use a 1-10 scale for comparison.

Played a little redneck tetris today. Let's see how many vehicles we can get on the car trailer? I finally used my front receiver mount for what I intended it for...hooking up to a trailer so I could use my winch while holding the trailer in place! Worked great! I had that 40 tub standing on end at one point because it was hung up and I kept winching it in. It was so much fun!
If you see me tomorrow morning don't tailgate. I filled both vehicles with a lot of metal and I only have so many straps and chains to hold everything in. :flipoff2:
I'm also taking in a couple catalytic converters so I should know the age old question of "how much are these stupid things worth?"

Ive heard cats going from an 80 for $80-120. Dont know local details, just forum posts.

An update from the scrap metal run: Got $103 for the scrap steel which was about 1000 lbs. Schnitzer doesn't take catalytic converters. Whipps recycling does but they were only going to give $10 for a small one and $20 for a big one (whatever that means) and they would mail me the check after taking your picture and drivers license number. But they were busy so I went around the corner to Cascade Metal Recycling.
I had four cats: 2 were OE from my MR2 (one was a pre cat and the other was a big nasty cast iron cat), one was from the 22re that I got with the blue 87 Yota from Jerod and the fourth was a small aftermarket one I got from Chris. Anyway here's how it was written up....

1. Small import cat (big cast iron MR2 cat) $65
2. Small domestic cat (small MR2 pre-cat) $39
3. Small domestic cat (22re) $39
4. Aftermarket converter (Chris's cat) $5

My guess is that the two "domestic cats" were a higher quality reman's so they gave more for them. Not sure though. Anyway they gave me cash and didn't need to take my picture and stuff like that. Nice people there too.

The video from rubicon posted in the trails and events section, you see me in the bar section(that's about right) ty2 wheeling and a good shot of Aric. Pretty cool. Josh

Ahoy guys. Anyone leaving early friday the 27th to CTW from Meddy? Quit procrastinating and registered this morning. I was at McGrew this year in the red FJC TTSE so I remember a few of you guys. The soon-to-be misses will be riding along too. Josh D.

Yep I'm headed out Friday around 9-10am ish... Although I think my misses has officially written the Woodburn outlet stores into the plan on the way up. Not positive on that though.
