I know very little about the features of different makes/models. I am looking for suggestions for a very simple GPS unit. I don't need one with traffic info or advanced route planning. All I really need is for the unit to tell me where on the map I am. Something simple and inexpensive.

The iphone is a really, really good general solution. Google maps is hard to beat. If you're going to be places where there is no service, you can down load maps and it will work anywhere. I have most of the sierras downloaded - works great. We also have a high end garmin. The maps aren't that great and the screens are small and the interface is hard to use.

Thanks everyone
