I’m trying to update the cooling system hoses on my ‘96 80 to all silicone. I’ve gotten most of them swapped, but I’ve been having some trouble with the smaller sizes. Does anyone know where I could find/who makes 9mm heater hose? I bought a length of 3/8 inch (~9.5mm) but I’ve noticed a few occasional leaks with it. I’m not looking at it currently, but I know of at least 3 hoses that are this diameter. I’ve currently replaced one with the 3/8th, but I’m afraid of leaks on future attempts.

I’ve seen some 9mm silicone hose available, but it doesn’t appear to be rated for antifreeze contact.

You are better off with gates green stripe hoses, and oem or gates rubber hoses for the radiator.

I have the HPS hoses already actually, and I’ve got Gates for my rear heater. I haven’t been able to determine if Gates makes the 9mm size though.

Hey, where do you source the heater hose Tee, and Valve?
I heard it is good to replace all that stuff. My FJ80 has 235k miles and its never been done.
I found a thread that talks about all this stuff in great detail here for the FJ-100. With many posts and pictures of different fixes, stainless tee's ect. but not for the 80

the ts on the 80 are brass so no real need to replace them unless they are leaking or your planning on looping out the rear heater core. I got my heater valve off of rockauto

Don't go with silicone. I think the long life claims are exaggerated, and it's all marketing hype. OEM and Gates Green Stripe are proven winners.

We're all sorry that you've spent all that money for silicone hose "bling" but very few here have had good results.

The Land Cruiser is the most reliable vehicle on the planet, as long as you don't run silicone hoses.

Sorry for pissin' in your Cheerios, but do a search and you'll see what I mean.

X2 Exactly what you should be using. If these hoses can last 200k miles/20+ years might as well go another 20.
