I replaced the old master cylender on my fj45 last weekend with a new Aisin one from 4 wheel auto. It has a smaller bore than the one that was in there originally, so I need to adjust my brakes. I couldnt get 3 of them to budge so I took it to my mechanic to see if he could get them to move, no luck there either. He suggested that the drums need to be removed and then free the siezed adjusters.

SO

How many bananas to do this myself. Id rate myself a 3 or 4 out of 10 for mechanic ability, I have an FSM and a decent socket set, jackstands etc. Any advise/helpful hints would be appreciated

The socket set, and a BFH will get the job done. You have plenty of ability.

I had a similar issue, and had to replace the cylinder. It was too messed up for repair. You might check availability on parts before you open it all up.

Fairly easy. Id just replace them. Whats your life worth? MIke

Thanks, I will have a crack at it this weekend, see how many can be fixed and how many need replacing.
