Has a date been set for the annual Shubarth run?

Jan 23rd.

J.T. and I went on some unbroken trails in the same area as Shubarth and the snow was not that deep. maybe the deepest I saw was a foot or so. Regardless, J.T. made everything look pretty easy with just 285? tires, rear chains, and no lockers. Unless we get some of that snow that's bombing the East, I think everyone will make it just fine.

I want my damn money back on the month of January! This is Colorado! stupid 70 degree days in January?! I want my 3 feet of snow........what a rip off........:D

Schubarth Road will be rather boring on the January 23. No significant snow in the forcast between now and then.

Do we need to go to a backup plan for the January 23 trail run?

It sounds like the Forest service has many abandonded vehicles in the national forest that need to be recoverd. Maybe we can see if we can help them out on January 23?

You apparently have not been in Colorado long, huh? :grinpimp:

Two Christmas days in a row I went wheeling up off Gold Camp and was in just a T-shirt. Of course I don't do that anymore as someone :princess: didn't much like that.

I always tell everyone that thinks CO weather is so bad that this is the nicest climate I have ever lived in.

BTW, who was the :censor: that made the trail schedule?

Blame him! :hillbilly:

:D That guy's an idiot! ha ha. I know Colorado weather is usually forgiving, I just remember hearing about the bad winter the year or two before I got here. Think it was 2005 or 2006? I want that winter! need to try out the new 37's in some deep @$$ snow! Shubarth run is probably going to be pretty uneventful, but I think it will stay on the schedule in January for years to come.

Wait!!! Maybe we can get up to Wheeler lake in January and shift Shubarth to April???

When is the meet and leave time? From the Western station in W.P.?

If we don't get any snow before the trip, then definitely stocker friendly. Might have a deep spot here and there, but should be able to get a running start at it or just wait for some other rigs to bust through.

Should have the Kevlars in by friday...:grinpimp:

Rui, Did you decide on 33's or 35's?

I went with 33's, it will get me through 80% of the trails (like you said), I'm sure the carnage of the other 20% would just set me back on my resto project on the 40. :)'

I think there is going to be fresh snow for the run....

I have to decide if I am going to put my old birfield and axle shaft back in or not. The axle housing is bent!

Time for a C&T on my spare axle and I may as well put the ram assist on at the same time.

I"m praying for snow! I've never been on this one but I'd love to see a "snow packed winch fest" for my first time!!:bounce: I'll see you guys at the western

Charlie

It's fun up to the 3rd time you have to dig yourself out of the snow or someone else helps you...then it just becomes work...I like just enough snow we can get through without getting stuck...
