I have to decide if I am going to put my old birfield and axle shaft back in or not. The axle housing is bent!

Time for a C&T on my spare axle and I may as well put the ram assist on at the same time.

Ram assist???? Can you elaborate....

Here is a link that talks about mounting a ram.

The hydraulic ram gets its fluid flow from the steering gear box that has been drilled and tapped. The ram aids steering by applying additional pressure to the steering tie rod.

I will be working on my front axle this weekend so I won't make it to the trail run. I figure that if I tear down my axle it will snow so I am trying to help you guys out.

I ordered knuckle rebuild kit and axle gussets from Marlin and spring perches from Ruff Stuff.

I am assuming this is something for people that have 35" and above tires...I would think with lesser tires your steering dampener and power steering would be sufficient?!

I believe ram assist will help with tires larger than 35" and a front locker.

Should help some with the operator turning the wheel and save the pump as well.

You might end up having to buy a new high volume pump too, I have been told the saginaw pumps don't move enough fluid to allow for a ram and makes your steering slow. Might depend a lot on the size of the ram, some of them seem to be a smaller diameter and may not use as much fluid.
