Not that impressive but I figured it was worth posting. I had heard the mudflaps could rip off the flare if you back over a rock...they were right.

haha, yep, that is exactly what started mine's departure.

Hey bull, what kind of dog do you have there? From what I can tell he looks just like my Bruno, I rescued him a couple of years ago and have always wondered what breed he might be.

Yeah my vet says Bruno looks very much like a Rhodesian except he doesn't have the ridge....thanks

I always remove the mud flaps prior to hitting the trail. Simply because I thought something like this may happen it they were caught up on something. Now I know.

This happened just a few minutes ago (cell phone image). My rig ripped its own flare off as I backed up. Such a tiny stump! It's like tripping on your own shoe lace. Embarrassing. I hadn't planned on going flareless, but....

.

Christo,

Thanks for the tip. I seem to remember you had that issue on the short bus on the Rubicon. Learn from experience.

Regards

Alvaro

Alvaro, you need to move that brake line. You are going to bust it.

Took the bumper tip off on the base of a tree on the Mcgrew this year.
On the bottom half there's a section not too many went on. Most used the bypass. I didn't. I did use a little too much right boot though. Pretty happy this was all the damage(at the time). A little higher and I'd have been into the fender.

then I let this guy drive the second half

He did pretty good for his first Mcgrew.
He was driving and I was in the passenger middle seat. Couldn't see what was coming up and when he went over a boulder most were having trouble with and started to go sideways towards the edge, I gave incorrect instructions(i.e. "STOP").

The results

Is the mcgrew trail a lot tougher than previous years? I missed it this year but have driven it several times in my mini with no problems (except a crushed cat on the steep little bonus section you mentioned).

I ran McGrew a couple weeks before the TLCA run (couldn't make that :frown: ) with my pretty much stock '96 (basically only difference was 31" M\T tires instead 30" stockers).

I did take most of the bypasses, but did a few of the sections with no real damage (LOTS of pinstriping, the trail was pretty overgrown). Looking back I could have done a lot more than I did, but as it was my first run out I wanted to keep it pretty tame.

I have ripped off a few flares and made some nice scratches but this is the first real body damage I have recieved. The wierd thing is after the intial shock, I don't seem to mind it. It happened on a trail ride at Eglin AFB.

After getting lost. I had dumped off the trailer and gone exploring. Oh and I had already removed my running boards because my metaltech sliders were on order.
