Soooo, what kind of mileage is claimed for that pickemup?

Doubt it's a whole lot better than an 80, although I'm sure you could afford at least another six-pack at the end of the week...

Better to invest in a little econo-DD, IMHO.

No. 2 cents, that truck cant be much better as it sits. Mike

I'd keep the cruiser.

What they said. Keep the 80 and buy some eco thing.

Keep the cruiser... I just came from a 89 22re and I had a 3" lift and 33s and I got the same milage as I do with my LC... But the cargo room, acceleration and power and ride quality is wayyyyy better now. My 2 cents anyway... You got a clean cruiser your best picking up a 90s civic to commute with and the insurance won't cost hardly anything

No brainer IMO...
Keep the Landcruiser. the 86 is IFS. The IFS lifts suck. Landcruisers in their stock form are better off-road than one of these trucks with a 10" lift could ever be. You wont save any money on gas pulling those 38's with the 22r (that is a carb right? didn't toyota got to EFI in 85? Whats up with that?) and you will get passed or pulled out by the guy you traded.

Now if you said it was a 85 with a solid front axel that would be whole nother beast! the truck you are thinking about buying is a joke. anyone who would drop 4000 plus on a lift to keep the same amount of travel and squash 38's under it is clearly not playing with a full deck. That truck is the off-road equivelant of a 86 buick regal with 22inch rims on it. Ugly and good for nothing.

If you really want a mini look for a SAS'd rig, at least you know the PO was thinking when he was spewing money from his wallet.

By the way your Landcruiser is sick. don't sell it. buy a civic and park that beast out of the sun!

good advice and timing on the civic suggestion!
Great minds think alike!

22re gets s**t mileage once you put a big set of rubbers on it. i would keep the cruiser. second the $500 beater. which i also see in the future.

Honestly, I don't think anyone in the 80's section is going to tell you to get rid of your 80.

Even if it's for a purple truck called "YO-ZILLA"

I would keep your ties and wheels if yiou do the swap.

I wouldn't do it.

Get a $500 gas save/ beeter

I can't believe that truck is legal in PA. You will be hassled everywhere you go. It's a shiny show truck, nothing more. Especially with those crappy ThornBirds on it. They will eat gas and power.

If you really want to make a trade, there are better options. A 22RE can get 22 mpg all day, mine does. But that one won't.

I wouldn't buy a beater. If I'm going to drive something on the daily I'm not going to get some crappy car just to save on gas. Being miserable everyday just to save a little money.

On a side note, are you up on your maintenance? Things like 02 sensors, air filter, tire pressure, etc add up and go a long way.

You apparently don't understand what a beater is (in the good sense of the word).

A late 80's to mid 90's Camry, Corolla, Civic, Accord, etc can be an awesome comfortable, zippy, reliable daily commuter while the Cruiser rests in the driveway. And hey, if every once in a while you want to commute with the Cruiser anyway, then so be it.

If you want a purple, underpowered truck with ugly rims I say go for it.

screw that other truck im keepin my cruiser till i die, the title on the other truck wasnt in the guys name and he didnt even have the title yet. it smelled fishy from the get go mostly because i told him to drive it to my house and he came in a different car. thanks for all the help guys. im not ever gonna get beat out of my cruiser
