I was cleaning my engine bay this afternoon and I notice that the insulation on this air hose has a cut in it. Is the insulation important enough that I should replace it or can I just tape it? Or completely useless and I can safely ignore the hole?

I would worry more about the splitting vacuum hose on the upper rear of your manifold. If you think that the hose you question is original, I would replace it. Cheap. Looks like you have a hungry mouse as well.Ignore it.
