Hey ..thanks everyone!!
The more I think about it the more I agree with everyone on this forum. I will offer 2K today and I think that wouldn't be a bad price. It is the overall neglect that worries me. I can see they didn't know what a nice vehicle they had and they just let it rot.
Ranma21 I will PM you when i get to work.
I have always thought that the cheap buy followed by a bunch of work and unknown surprises isn't worth it. I'll probably sell my '91 and go the 94>> route

Thanks again everyone!!!

The mauintenance parts on the 80 is not cheap, well lets jsut say owning an 80 is not cheap. But if it is well maintained by the previous owner, you should not have to spend much except gas. And the rust is just a big no no, especially to that extend, I bet you that it has hole it its door already once you brushed off the rust. I used to have some rust belt vehicles, it does not look a bit like this one. No rust that I can see, but guess what?? I ended up spending quite a bit replacing parts cause by the corrosion of rust overtime. So even at $2k i would not touch it, unless you do not care and you just want something to bash around. Not to discourage you so you may consider buying mine more, just from experience I would like to share. I will never buy one again from the rust belt if I have a choice.

RANMA21........you are right. the '91 I picked up wasn't rusty at all. I am going to pass on this one. I have been scouring the craigslist for sun belt land cruisers. Do you have pics of one you have for sale?

thanks

Have you tried posting a 'wanted' ad in the Classifieds section here on 'Mud? I would start there.

If you will PM me your e-maill address I can send you some pictures.

I'm not sure where you are located, but if you are from the Northeast you probably don't "run away" from rust like the many people on here that have never had to deal with it. I think the price is high from where I sit, but I would suggest having someone who knows these things actually take a look at it. I don't think that leaky axle wipers and a spot of rust makes this a complete deal killer. If you could find one in better condition for the same money then great.

But don't pass this up simply because someone saw a couple pictures. Look it over, lowball them if you are happy with the amount of work it would take to get it where you want it, and :steer:!

nope keep on searching when i get mine running i will sell you mine.
