Shot Cat- Should I replace or not

I had a rattle and I believe that I have tracked back to a cat converter that has gone south. I live in LA- Louisiana and do not need it for smog but I do consider myself kinda green and don't want to pollute and one day I want to move back to Denver where I will need it I am sure. SOOOO

Do I cut out the bad cat and go straight pipe on one side and leave the good cat in the other pipe?

Cut them both out?

Or just get it fixed. It would have to go to a shop because I have the MAF 2.5 inch exhaust in and the last shop welded the pipes aft of the cats to the muffler.

I have done a search and I am kinda up in the air.

Adopt another cat and install it.

If you want a cat get a Hi flow cat off fleabay cheap and you'll stay "green"

You kinda answered your own question. I'd personally replace the cat(s) as well. Have a shop do it if you don't want to.
