I googled a few ranges in the area with some good reviews.

I would like to hear any recommendations of places you have used or currently use.

I am mostly looking for a place for my boys to practice shooting with their .22 rifle and maybe some pistol.

Wake county firearm training center in Holly springs. You have to take of range safety class onsite before you can shoot.

Yes,
I think Sunday Tuesday evening Thursday evening and then Saturday and

I used to work near triangle shooting academy. Good lunch time pew pew. Brass only and a little pricy but pretty new facility and a ton of try before you buy deals

I too have visited Triangle many times. The rental option is really nice but buy one box from them and bring LOTS of your own. I've tried a PPQ, P320, P226 Legion, P365, EMP4, G19, and G17 along with a bunch of friends guns. I've taken my Ruger 22 Takedown and they allow shotgun with slugs. Thursday is "date night" or what me and guys at work call it, buy-one-get-one free. Although expensive, the facility is very nice and the motorized targets are great.

Took the boys to Drake landing. This place was perfect and was exactly what I was looking for.
Outside, not crowded at all, range master that was friendly and very helpfull and the best part is that since my boys are under 12 years old it’s half off. So for $24 they both got to shoot.

I will definitely be bringing them back there again.

I'd like to try their Sporting Clays course, too.

They have two sporting clays courses, old and new. Both are often modified to keep things different but the old one is tighter and slightly easier. The new course has a lot more distance in the shots and unique ways of shooting the clays.

I haven't been in a while but I used to find GroupOn discounts for Drake Landing. The GroupOn package has gone up dramatically from $28 to $46.
