What year did the transmission move from the tree to the floor stock from factory?

I think '75 the 4-speed hit the market, I can only assume it was then but I'm no expert or Land Cruiser historian...
Looking at the parts diagrams, it looks like 73 might be the first year that the 3 speed had the option for the floor shift.
Pre-73 there was no part number for the floor shift top cover on the 3-speed gearbox.
But also, I aint no historian.
