Background

This was in reference to a conversation that was had while standing around the wagons on Terminator. It started with hot peppers, proceeded to dogs and dog events, albino people, black albino people, and then camel bones.

What the hell else is there to talk about when you're hanging out in a rocky ravine in the middle of the desert?

It was Tool's :princess: that brought up the prehistoric american camels.

Cool...maybe I'll find a petrified camel bone someday.

There was also a moment of spiritual enlightenment...

and to think I missed that all

And not so prehistorically

Have a look at this snopes.com reference page about "looney laws" and it references Arizonas wild camels.

Did I mention I like tangents, but who went from albino boxers to albino people and black albino people??

Speaking of tangents....

Ooooohhh.....Mountain cruiser.....is that THE 40 Ive been waiting to see finished in your new avatar

there were also quite a few camels brought in a couple hundred years ago that became wild when they were let loose. would be funny if the bones were found to be those less prehistoric camels.

Yep, some hack built it over the last 3 years and is finally getting the chance to shake it down. So far so good minus a few small issues with the t-case which will be resolved this weekend.

Story of the more recent camels in AZ

When Camels Roamed Arizona

Good story until they went for the "you can still sometimes see the ghosts of these camels near Yuma".

I can't wait for the "Ghost camel tours of Yuma"

There was also a movie about the US Calvary using camels that was made in the 70's by Disney if I recall. As memory serves I think it was called CHOMPS.
