Ok, now all the 3D printer people need to step up and make a weatherproof plug for that hole. @suprarx7nut (YotaMD) any chance?

+1 Would really like to use the factory penetration for rooftop accessories. In my mind I would want XM, HAM and power to route through that spot. A nice tidy enclosure would be awesome.

Something like this maybe?

Edit: didnt realize how old this thread is.

OP, you get it repaired?

Hmmm... possibly. How does that mount? Details? Would be a great way to get wiring up to lighting on a roof rack.

Satellite radio is pretty useless, but right now they are running promos for $2 for 3 months. Thats right, sixty six cents a month.

If you want to reactivate a dead radio or are paying full price, give them a ring and they will drop their drawers. I wouldnt pay over $1/month but it is somewhat enjoyable.

Was going to tell them goodbye after yearly rate fights, but a friend sent me this last week and had a renewal coming up - worked !

Not sure. That is designed for solar panels, but I would want a 3D printed sleeve and seal to match the factory hole. Then this could mount over top as secondary protection.

Any updates? I would love to mount a GMRS antenna in the place of the shark fin

yeah how did this end?
obviously the shark fin connectors were damaged, specifically that latches that hold the three coaxial connectors to those slip fit coaxial connector receptacles. a new shark fin at least was needed. and it is highlly possible the cable was damaged, but not certain.

Did anyone ever make a cover for the sharkfin hole? I would love to remove mine.
good luck with that. there is just a huge honking oval shaped hole in the roof. You would need a flap plastic piece, a few inches by a few inches, and a gasket.

look at the pictures of the bottom of ann OEM antenna:

Thanks for the help. I know there will be a hole, although it isn't shaped like the shark fin and is a rectangle that looks to be 2x3" or so. I am asking if anyone has removed theirs and fabbed up a way to fill and seal the hole.

Resurrecting this thread... installed a Front Runner Slimline II Low Profile roof rack on my 2015 LX 570 which required a shark fin delete. Since I couldn't find a replacement online, I took the liberty of 3d printing one out of Carbon PLA. If anyone is interested for $50 (shipping included), PM me for more details. Have a solid day folks.

I just installed some new wheels and tires on my wife's 2017 LX570, and it won't clear our 6' 6" garage door without putting the car in LOW. Would this fit a 2017 LX?

You can always install it and just drive really fast into the garage. It should fit at least once. I give myself a dope slap.... :slap: I hope you get it working... Congrats on the new wheels and tires! 👍
