What is the good and bad of shakle lift when using worn stock springs?
How much lift can I go?
Is there a web site on what longer shakles do to on/off road driving?

I had OME shakles on my old 60 but MAF sent out the wrong bushings (I didn't know better and installed them) and I could grese them right so the bushing failed.
Who is a good vendor that will send out the right shakle parts?

www.Southwets4x4.net I installed longer shackles and they work great. Gave me two inches of lift and still ride great.

I also ran the Southwest 4x4 shackles until I saved enough pennies for the HFS lift. For the street the setup was great, off road my stock length shocks certainly limited the travel and the long shackles up front found a whole lot of rocks.

Save your money for new springs.

Extended shackles change your pinion angle and steering geometry. This can be corrected with castor shims, but then you have to remove the springs from the axles....new u bolts, longer centering pin, a bit of labor and money. Even with shims you can end up with bad shcakle angles, which will compromise your ride.

OME or Alcan springs are the way to go.
