What are the pro's and cons? I want to put some 33x9.5x15's on but need some lft...what do you guys recommend for my 78 FJ55??

A pig won't take a 33x9.50 without a lift? A stock 40 will.

The add-a-leaf will give you a much more harsh ride, unless you load it with weight. The extended shackle will potentially screw with the caster angles and pinion angles. Additionally, the extended shackles might screw up your shackle angle. Depends on how much extended shackle you're talking about.

All that said....

I'd just buy a lift. I assume there's an OME suspension available for a 55, and if that's the case, then it's some of the best money you can spend on it.

Charles at ALCAN Spring in Colorado is building me a custom set with a 3" lift and Bilstein 5100's on the corners....it needs to be done right.

Just ordered the exact same thing for mine today! Old cheap-ass PO springs are sagging badly in the rear with the weight of the cage and the 4+ bumper added.

i know someone who can use your old sagging rear FJ55 springs. ;)

I need to have spares here, since i have 1 bent a little already.
