Is there any issues that will arise from extending the shackles on my FJ60 by 2"? I am looking at extending the front 2" inches and adding a leaf in the rear springs because they are totally flat. Any thoughts from the experts?

I would like to see add a leaf front and back ..

you can make / buy new ones 2" longer .. likely with a middle tube / block to add resistance / rigidity to them ..

you know adding 2" to one end ( shackle ) will lift by 1" your Cruiser ..

When the springs flatten down so much that it's a problem, the problem is the springs. They have lost their strength and longer shackles will only hasten their demise. I'm with @Tapage. Add another leaf in the packs for the cheapest semi fix (with longer shackles if needed) but ideally the correct thing to do is replace them.

My front springs are not flat. Only the back ones are. I was going to add two inches to lift the front one inch and then add a leaf to the back.

The problem with adding shackle length up front, is that is messes up your caster. And since it tips the knuckle forward, it lessens the Fj60 already nearly inadequate stock caster, you have wandering steering that is especially unstable under braking.

I'd recommend you abandon this plan if you plan to drive on the road.

Just get new springs, or re-arch the ones you have. Or, since you're in belize, just drive it like it is.

Essentially, do it right, or don't do it.

When my 60 was in your situation, I added a leaf to the rear pack. That brought the rear back up to where it had been. If you add the shackle lift to the front, your front will be too high relative to the rear. Besides the caster issue with a shackle lift, it changes the shackle angle towards vertical, which results in a harsher ride. If you want a cheap 1" lift, do a body lift.
