Sensor wire coming off exhaust and smog?

So I was looking under my hood today and noticed a few things. First of all, my smog pump is not really hooked up to my exhaust. I did a body lift and it pulled the hoses off. Does that affect how it runs?

Also, I found this wire hanging off what looks like the exhaust manifold. Does anyone know what this does? Is it essential to running my FJ60? If it is I would like to know what it hooks up to, because I did not see anything it should connect to.


I searched the forums and didn't see anything, and my manual is missing. Thanks!

Looks like the wire to your temp sensor on the manifold. When it's hot and you shut your truck down, it's supposed to signal the carb cooling fan to blow air on your carb for a few minutes.

Okay, I tried touching the corroded wire to it to see if it was and it didn't work so i just ground it to a screw on the carb fan to make it run. Thanks.
