Selling reloading stuff

Who knows about reloading? Who does it on their own? My stepmother inherited her uncle's estate when he died a few years ago. He was a gun collector and did tons of collecting of reloading stuff and there is tons of stuff, brass, cartridges, lead, projectiles, powder, molds, presses, etc. She'd like to find someone that knows about the stuff that can help her sell it without being robbed blind, knows what stuff is worth and could help her figure out how to legally sell it all.

Boy, that brings back memories.... less than fond memories as a 12 year old. setting a new primer, measuring the powder, funneling it in the case, pressing the bullet. Over and over and over. And of course it was my job to pick up all the spent brass from the ground after a shooting session,. Not to mention resetting the cans and bottles and retrieving paper targets. What would my Dad have done without me?

I am familiar, legally there is virtually nothing to worry about. You just don't want to sell the powder to someone under 18.

Do you have a good list of brands, models and how many different calibers the collection is capable of?

Probably more than you would imagine one person would ever have. He was a lifelong bachelor and worked as a civil engineer for the Army Corp of Engineers. Guns and Norton Motorcycles were his primary hobby but he dabbled in other things (RC Airplanes, Chevy's/Pontiacs with big engines, Machining equipment, welding equipment, and more). He amassed a very large collection over the years. I'm planning to go visit my stepmother in the next few weeks and will try to get an accounting of all the stuff he had.

I was thinking/hoping you were probably knowledgeable. I will keep you posted once I know more info. I was talking to her this weekend and a few things she mentioned was brass shot shells, tens-maybe hundreds-of pounds of brass, several really old shot shell boxes, and I'm sure there is much more. I suspect some of the stuff is useful for reloading and some of it may be useful as collectible items. The challenge for us that are unfamiliar is figuring out what is what. I'd like to use my resources/friends to ensure she's getting fair prices for the stuff and not robbed by some unknown person.

Just a crazy notion, I would love to reload, but need another hobby like I need to be hit by a trash truck. Perhaps we could pool resources, give your step mom a fantastic deal and the club could have group reloading facilities.

Probably a logistical headache, but figured if there were a core of folks interested it would be cool.

I've been doing my best to stay out of this discussion. I'm hardly an expert and the last thing I need is more loading tools. Sorry @marcfj60 , but I'm not much help with putting a value on this gear. If anything I would be a customer.
