The only problem I had with the Cruiser in 700 miles of bad Mexican roads was a gushing of washer fluid from the US DS wheel well.

Tonight I got in there and wiggled this ugly thing from the inner fender...it was like delivering a kid...nice and wet and slimy.. Its a plastic/rubber bladder that holds washer fluid, separate from the hard plastic unit.

Sure enough, it's got a small hole in it. My question...any particular purpose to this thing, other than to hold more washer fluid....and get holes in it? Can I just ditch the darn thing and live with less than 2 gallons of washer fluid?

Think of it an an extra fuel tank for the washer. You don't need it but it is nice. If you can find a suitable plug to cap off the main jar, I see no reason to replace it. With a list price of $109.89 I think I would either try to fix it or remove it completly.

Is that an FJ80 thing, or does the FZJ80 have it too?

3FE powered vehicles only. The area where the main jar mounts (LH apron) makes the 3FE main jar a bit on the small side, hence the "extra" tank to boost capacity.

Thanks Dan.

Thread hijack: What have been some solutions to having a 2nd battery and supercharger for the washer bottle? I've seen George's bracket using a Corolla bottle, just wondering if anyone else has a good solution. 4x4Connection built my truck and their idea was to use the bag from the rear of a 60 and hang it from the front of the main battery. I hate it, it bounces off the hangers and leaks everywhere all the time.

Ummmm I drilled a hole in mine 8 years ago ;) patched it up with some goop and some tape over the goop, never leaked again.
