It would be really great to be able to meet up. I would totally be up for that.

At the moment, I don't think we have any solid plans. I think we will be there from Saturday to Saturday, but I will confirm. We were planning on keeping an eye on the weather as time gets closer. I'll start to take a look at some of the places you suggested. It is hard to gauge driving distance looking at a map because of the terrain, but it looks like both Olympia NP and Tahuya are not too far from Shelton.

Although I am always game for anything, I doubt the kids will be too up on anything hardcore, but we definitely want to get off pavement. I figured that everything will be pretty muddy and likely raining the whole time, but se la vie. I guess you have to travel pretty Far East before it starts to dry out right?

Anything in ONP will be mild. Single track forest road with snow might be as rowdy as you can find there.

Shelton is a great spot — all of the trails will be north or west of you

I suggest driving into Seattle and taking the ferry over to Bremerton. It's a nice 90 minute ferry and ferries are one of the unique experiences in Washington. Kids love em.

Thanks man. I really appreciate it. Like I said, we have a clear slate so let me know what you think about options for meeting up as time gets closer.

Thanks Grinchy. That's a great idea. The kids are used to the commuter ferries here in the Bay, but they have never been on a car ferry. Seems like it would make a great loop trip.

If ya take the ferrry from Seattle to Bremerton you would be less than 30 minutes from Tahuya, you could loop that into your loop, fun little trails, you can make it 20 minutes or 2 hours depending on how many trails ya want to do, how much the kiddos like it etc..

@1world1love and @tbisaacs if you decide to connect up and explore some trails, and want another 200 along, let me know! Mine is stock right now, but I've spent some time in the ONP in my previous truck (1st gen Tundra) and on dirt bikes. If you just want some really mellow forest roads to explore with the kids, check out Capital Forest as well. It's a big state park just SE of Olympia (and 30-45 minutes south of Shelton).

I’d definitely be up for a group run. It’d be cool to be able to meet up with some of you guys while we are up there.

FYI on capitol state forest:

Off-road vehicle riders and horseback riders can enjoy Capitol State Forest trails from May 1 to Nov. 30

I’d take Friday the 9th off for a day out...

@tbisaacs That is for the dirt bike/ATV and horseback trails only. Those are fairly tight technical trails that aren't accessible by cars/jeeps, and have gates preventing wide vehicles from accessing.

The forest roads are open to cars year round, but some of the higher elevations do get blocked by snow.

Trail map below, it is a fun place to explore, highly recommend.

Yeah, I haven't had or heard of great customer experiences either.
I have no affiliation with Mule but can say they set my '13 up with BP51 setup w/OME UCA and I couldn't be happier with their service. Their new location in Preston should more conducive to customers as parking was a nightmare in Issaquah due to the brewery next store (my experience anyway). They had to have two shops in Issaquah (one for service, one for retail) but in Preston they will are under one roof. I did have an issue with too high of spring rates in the rear (wouldn't fit in garage due to my underestimating amount of lift). They took care of me promptly and got me what I needed and even participated in costs for the new spring install, which they offered proactively not after I was complaining. That says a lot in my book. I couldn't be happier and plan to do much more business with them in the future. Due to the cost associated with the BP setup on the 200, I won't lie and say I wasn't "worried" when I first went in but they knew their $hit and helped me get my rig setup exactly as I intended. :)

Nice build. Looks like that Ironman bumper has the little curve at the bottom of the hoop. Haven't seen them post on mud, but now that the truck is finished maybe they'll join up.

Does anyone have any extra roof rack cross bars? (Or a gobi rack for sale)

I’m taking a road trip down to Moab in about a month and understand that the factory rack should be able to support my RTT. However, I’d love a couple extra bars going across just to spread the load.

It would be great just to get 2 crossbars. I’m going to get a roof rack this summer and want a gobi but that just won’t be ready in time.

You can ask Eric Sarjeant who is a member on here and works at a dealership where they do a lot of rack replacements. He always seems to have extra crossbars and I think will send them if you cover shipping.

That's awesome. I'll look him up. Going to see if any Seattle locals have them first. :)
Thank you!

I have some 8020 rails that I was using as crossbars. Sitting in my garage!

Howdy here, new 200 series owner over here in Woodinville. Bought this bad boy from Greg last week: Link

I'll be selling my 100 series (2001 LX with 211k) if anyone is interested. :D But overall, I'm relatively new to wheeling and would love to find a crew to start out with so I can be safe and have some fun! Bonus points if y'all have recommendations for 'warm-up' trails I can take the family on for scenic camping spots in the Cascades or ONP.
