Hello All,
I have a 91 LC and I find the drivers seat very uncomforatable. Does anyone know what year electric seats were available and the ease in switching them (if possible). Any aftermarket seats available??

If you're talking about moving the passenger seat to the driver's it won't fit. The bolt holes are different and so is the seat height and some other tiny things that become a big deal when you try.

I'm surprised you don't have an electrically adjustable seat. I drive a 1990 model from Japan and it has an electrically adjustable drivers seat. Unfortunately I couldn't move it to the formerly passenger's side for the above stated reasons, and I only found that out after I had both seats off. I've heared that Pajero seats will fit, but I never verified that. I've learned to live with what I have.

I think that nearly all 80's in the UK are electricaly adjustable, up down and tilting seat squab, back rake, forewards and back and best of all, warm anorectal varices.

I would be interested in this as well. My 94 has leather in great condition, but is manual....I find the leather is slick and base slopes slightly towards the front....I would be interested in finding out about the wiring as well, and wonder if anyone has ever bought seats used and installed? How about re-using the seat covers (I think would have to be modified for controls on side?)

Would like to stay OEM, as the power ones with adjustable side supports are truly some of the most comfortable seats out there....

(Not a highjack, just a piggyback!)

Manuals do slide back further.....

However, I think with the interior change in 95, so did the leather and colors.....prob a bit different than your 96, but I don't know for sure....def not the same as the 97 I test drove....

Mine is actually a true brown....not tan, but brown!?!

Sort of struck me as a little fugly at first (not the seats, but the offsetting inserts in door panels), but wifey likes it, and after a few days I got used to it.....

I will probably look for some trashed pwer ones so I can tilt the bottom up a bit, and feel the sides hug me...LOL

CC,

Have you tried putting in washers to change the tilt of your seats ?

The front supports are vertical, not horizontal......I'll be honest though, I did not look at the rear ones to see if they could be shortened/modifed.....

After I buy the wife another 80 or 100, and I start to drive this one, I might consider doing a more permanent mod, but for now she is too tiny and I am too tall to mess with it right now, if I don't find some power ones ultra cheap...

Exactly my point. Try putting washers under the front only. It should tilt your seat back a bit and make it easier.

I guess I'm hard headed or my cold medicine is keeping me from thinking clearly....

If I were to put washers under the front bracket, it would move the seat forward (and rear bolts/bracket would not allow much movement) not tilt up....

What am I missing here?

Thanks guys, I am tall also and did not know that manuals go back farther but I have had electric seats in my last vehicle and they allowed more fine adjustments for me to fit into. I really need another inch to be more comfortable and the seat is too tough for more. So I think I will search for some electric seats and make some fabrications do I can get that extra inch and sit comfortable.
Thanks for the imput.

CC,

My mistake and probably a product of old age. I was thinking of the seats of another vehicle. I offer my apologies.

Ok, I found a pair of electric seats for $500.00 on nationalpartsfinder.com, from a 96LC, any idea if the passenger side in a 96 still has the heater underneath and if it would fit???

Thanks
