Just installed seat heaters for both front seats. They went in w/o any swearing etc. Still took about 5-6 hrs though. I put the drivers switch in the empty space by the electric mirror controls and the passenger switch in an empty space below the heater controls. Worked out really well. I will post pics as soon as my computor decides it will alow me to download. Just in time as it started to snow as I was doing the install.
Cheers,
Sean

Sean-

Good to hear. I have been pondering this mod too. Where did you purchase them, Slee? And tricks for those that may be doing the same re pulling the leather, and where did you pull power from?

I got the ones from Slee. The first trick is to only take apart the seat as far as needed. The second seat went twice as fast and used fewer hog rings. You will NEED hog ring pliers. Ran all wiring under the carpets. They have a pretty nifty plug and play for the power, but you will need an extra 7.5a small fuse. Just pull out a 7.5a fuse from the fuse box, and plug in the piece provided. This piece allows two fuses to be used from one port. One fuse for what ever was there and a second for the seat heater. The instructions are pretty good, but are generic. Each vehicles seat is different.
I just got out some needle nose pliers, cutting pliers and went at it. Just did one seat at a time so I could see how it should go back together. On the seat bottom the cover unpeels from clips etc and only a few hogrings need to be removed. It is cold and snowing and I just got back from town. Nice warm butt and back. :)))) pics still not working.

Sean

Switch pics

Drivers side. Then passenger side.

Did you have to recover or re-upholster the seats? Do they have more than one heat setting or just one?

Sounds really nice though and just in time too! My wife's car has them, so I have her convinced on them...Just time now.

I have the slee heat installed on the drivers side of my rig and yes it does have multiple settings.

Any chance those switches would be able to be installed in the coin holder "plugs" in the center console? From the pics they appear to be small enough.

Also, the foam on the lower bolster (bottom part of the seat as you enter the drivers side) has broken down, while you were in there, did you notice if that side piece can be replaced seperately or would you have to replace the whole bottom cushion? Figured if I go ahead and install a seat heater, might as well make the other fix as well. Anyone know how much a new bottom cushion would be? My leather is in great shape, but the cushion has seen better days.

Don't think so. But I guess it could be possible with a little modification. (Drill etc..) I just put mine on the side with the other seat controls.

blupaddler, you do not have to recover or re-upholster the seats. They have 3 heat settings.
Montana cruiser, They switchers may fit. They are about 1 1/4" deep and 3/4" around. I have a lexus so there is a speaker in that location. You would have to replace the whole bottom cushion.
reffug, I thought about putting them on the side of the seat, but wanted to see whether they were on or not. I would have pu them there if I did not have open spaces on the dash.

Yes, they can be installed in the center console.

Perfect, I like that placement, change always bounces out of the holders so they dont see any use anyhow. Thanks for the pic!

Christo-

Your missing the premium carpet piece!!! Better call C-Dan.

As an update, I was using them today,(snowy and about 25 F), and you can feel the warmth within about 2-3 min of driving time. They get quite warm. I am very happy with the mod. Should be standard on all Canadian cruisers.

They should also work great for people that have to much wine on the Rubicon and can not make it to the back of the truck to go to sleep. :D

Great thanks for the help!!!

My wife won't take the crusier, it just means that we will get to drive in it more. ;)

Looks like I am going to have to call Cdan for the "special" carpet piece too!
