Can you guys tell me what parts of your seat get hot from the seat heaters? In other words, where are the heating elements?

On my driver seat, the lower back and back of the bottom cushion get hot, but on my passenger seat, only the front of the bottom cushion gets hot?

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Paul

not sure really, I'm about to install some myself. Meanwhile does your seat heater switch have illumination?

I am finding out some came with illumination and some didn't from toyota. Its that or I have a defective unit.

Does it look like this at night?

As you can see the red intensity indicators light up along with the symbols, mine only has the on/off LED light up (the squarish lights on top of each knob). Not even the symbols or the letters are lighting up.

everyone else, how does your look like?

Interesting question.

Here's what my 2013 US-spec with heated/cooled seats looks like:

I should have mentioned that mine is a 2011 LX 570. I don't think my switches are illuminated.

thanks for the pic gaijin, this is mine

nothing is lighting up except the top rectangular LED's, i also have the same unit DSallean purchased and recommended. I pm'd him so hopefully he can share whether they are illuminated or not.

not sure but I was always under the impression that the passenger seat only has heaters in the back as opposed to back & cushion for the driver.

On my passenger side, only the front of the cushion is heated. Nothing on the back.

Also, dials are backlit.

this is the manufacturer's instructions

I knew it, no red LED's at all and this item is marketed as original OEM part, BUSTED!

Howdy, I just saw your message. Yes, mine lights up just like the original switch with green in the L, R, heated seat icon, around the knobs. And it lights up Red in the indicators when you turn on the heater for each seat. Mine is a 2008. It looks like yours is all green and that's not good.

Thanks DSallean for your input, i am sure I received the same switch from the same manufacturer but probably a different seller.

They also acknowledged that they do not make the strength indicators light up red after I sent them some photos, however they did state that the "on/off" indicators light up redish/orange which is correct if you look at my picture.

From your post, do you mean the red lights up in the on/off indicators (the rectangular LED's) or the strength indicators around the knob? because I am 99% certain the strength indicators in your unit light up green around the knob and not red backlight like the original Toyota switch.

Or it could be some Toyota LC's came with red backlight on the strength indicators and some didn't, could be toyota changed the supplier or something at some point.

The red lights up on the on/off indicator on mine. The "strength" indicators glow green. I could be wrong but I believe that is how my original switch was.

Good luck.

Dave
