Seat Belt Won't Retract - Warranty?

Sorry, I think it is the metal spring inside.

I think I need to replace the spring mechanism, I don’t know if I could fix anything if I opened it up.

Hopefully I can find one from a part-out, it doesn’t look like they are sold separately.

Ah well yeah that would make the difference. There’s a couple of active trucks being parted out in that section of the site. Might be the easier route to just replace.

By the way, don’t mess with the parts near the yellow connector, that’s the explosive pretensioner. Kinda like a tiny airbag for your seatbelts. If you’re going to remove the assembly disconnect the battery and wait a few minutes beforehand, at least that’s what they say.

I have to disconnect it to send off for the retractor to be refurbed.

I tried the battery disconnect. Tried turning twisting prying etc etc to get the yellow connector out. My picture is with the cover clip removed just to see if there was another release inside. No luck. I don't want to spray lube in it or manhandle it. Am I missing something? View attachment 1879289

Update . I got it to disconnect by prying harder. Now airbag light is on which I assume is normal until it is reconnected ??

I am leaving my battery disconnected until I replace the seat belt and plug the pre-tensioner back in.

You will probably have an error code to clear...

I sent the driver seat belt to Safety Restore to get the retractor fixed back in Jan of '19 and tonight it failed.
Pissed...
