Installing new rear wheel bearings and races and noticed scratch marks on inner surface where race goes. Ok to install new race and run it?

I wouldn’t worry about that at all… seems like a punch just slipped off a race during removal, no big. Just make sure nothing is proud of the ID (as in something catches your nail as you drag it over the surface) and if it is touch it up with a diamond file until it’s not.

Yep, should be just fine
What @Iggmon said

There is no rolling contact surface there like a bearing interface so a different situation

Rock on

Thank you!

Also, ensure there are no raised marks on the ledge that the race sits on.
You could swipe some grease on the inner sidewall to help the race slide down.

Took you guys advice and checked to see if any damage was proud of the ID and it was not. Chucked the races in the freezer for an hour and they went in with some final influence with the race driver. 👍🏼
All installed and now waiting for more parts!
Thanks ahain

Will you grease the hub seals (lips) before installation? One method is to fill the space between the seal lips with grease before installing the hubs, any extra will
get flung out

Maybe too late for this job so FWIW if your spindles have a wear groove (where the hub seal rides) Terrain Tamer has a cassette type hub seal that will not continue wearing a groove into the spindle.

Yes I will Kernal! A great idea. Want to take all precautions to prevent future leaks.
