Does anyone know how to find out if this road is open or not?
I have a niece in town and wanted to take her down it from Flag this Friday.

Any info?

open - we just took it on Saturday July 6th - as did at least 20 side-by-sides, several rental Jeeps and vehicles of two different Jeep Tour companies.

we also came from Flagstaff - a bit rocky, but didn't touch the running boards

Thank you!. Last time I tried it in March, it was closed. I have a cousin coming from Germany in two weeks and I want to take her too!

Thanks again.

You can always contact the US Forest service in Sedona as well for the information.

OK. I'll try to find their number before I make final plans.

Thanks all.

So was this in a Land Cruiser or the pink patties LX?

Guess road being closed in March was for the winter. This road should not be effected by the Slide Fire but may have more traffic because of that fire. 89A has already been closed at least once because of flooding caused by the fire. I've seen plenty of rental passenger cars on this road besides jeeps. Not something I would but people drive rentals different than their own vehicles. Because so many people on this road are tourist not sure middle of the week would be any better than weekends this time of year.

the LX

we could not see any fire damage from Schnebly Hill Road.

Fire was on the west side of 89A and a long way from Schnebly Hill road. If they close 89A in oak creek canyon the next best scenic option (my option better) in the area is Schnebly Hill. Driving down interstate 17 and across 179 is not very scenic. What better way to drive to the center of the universe. Don't forget your crystals and pyramid.

Long story shortened way down, know of someone who had to be married in Sedona on 7/7/07. Year later bought a big house in north valley, driving a H2. Another year divorce and house foreclosed on. Guess they may have had wrong crystals.:hmm::meh::rolleyes:

8/8/80 - fee for the divorce off has-been husband was more than $67 :hillbilly:
