Here is mine. Had to trim the visor's a bit, but I think that is the best location for the guage.

Looks good. I wish I can use one in my 94. :frown:

One thing I noticed, with the unit down low like that, it will be hard to read / use while driving. I have my 2m radio in the same spot and dislike the location. IMO, it needs to be up higher, like up by the mirror or above the steering column.

Here's an option for those w/o fabbing capabilities. Not exactly sure if it will work with the factory rear-view mirror or not, but appears to have possibilities.

Great writeup. Also, the blendmount looks like possible mount to buy down the road.

Just FYI on this dead thread in case anyone searches later - the blendmount won't fit the factory mirror which is similar to the FJC mirror in the above link.

Off to figure out plan B...

I just received my Scan Gauge II yesterday and decided to do my first write for any who are interested.

Scan Gauge II is fully OBD-II driven gauge/scan & reset engine code tool. fuel flow/MPG, etc... basically everything that your OBD-II does you can see here and then some.

See ScanGaugeII - How to Buy for details.

Hi all, this is exactly what I was looking at, link doesn't work though.
Other locations that I have found regarding scangauge II say's not compatible with landcruiser 80 series.

I do have a late 96 model, do all functions work?
Does it have a temp gauge that is accurate?

Yes, a ScanGauge II will work in your 96' and it does have a temp gauge that reads accurately.

If you search, you will find loads of information to that effect.

Thanks for your help, I have been searching, this is the first reference I've found regarding it working on an 80 series.

I will be buying one now, turns out to be cheaper then just a digital temp gauge.

Mounted mine the same way yesterday... great idea for the location

I found this out after I bought the Blendmount 2 years ago. I wound up using mine on the A-pillar grab handle. So far it's been fine there and my hands havnt hit it when driving.

I am using a blend mount with my scan gauge 2 on the 97 FZJ80 with stock mirror. Purchase date for the blend mount was around Feb of 2011. Works fine!
