FWIW, there's an essential difference between SCs and turbocharging:
- turbos rely of exhaust gas to spin the compressor, so the power & torque come on as revs increase. Typically, you need to be up in the revs to reach the flat part of the curve, and there is lag involved before that happens.
There are some very trick multi-turbo setups that reduce these effects, but this is beyond the realm on 'bolt-on' aftermarket turbo solutions.
- SCs deliver results from low revs all the way up. Much better bottom end, and a performance curve that looks a lot like a normally aspirated engine. Generally good for low end torque.

Turbo you race car. SC your truck.

Its a Supercharger on EBay I posted a link to and what I asked about.
BTW a correctly fitted turbo would be amazing on a 100. i'm sure the AVO kit Slee installs is great, I'm just cheap.

I would have to agree with you also. A lot of people especially those wanting to play around with fuel management, may find that running a turbo setup will better increase your mileage/efficiency and decrease the load and stress put onto your engine. May it not be the best suitable option for a crawler wanting that low end torque, a nice twin turbo set up of smaller turbos can almost eliminate the turbo lag. Sorry to hijack and make this a SC vs TC reply, but both options are great you just have to weigh out what you are looking to do. I drove a Ford Lightning for a while in college and hated watching my needle physically drop when getting on it from a dead stop (being a broke college kid). IMO if I went either way. I'd go turbo this time around. :wrench:

I was watching and I was going to bid on it, but, at the last minute, the price went from $1750 to $2250, and that put me way over my "I think I might do it" feeling.....

....especially since I have a 2006 with VVTi..... I would have to run a MAP ECU3 anyways...

I am looking at the possibility of fabbing up a single turbo manifold kit with Turbo and water injection so there would be no engine cooling issues from an intercooler or water heat exchanger for water to air intercooler.

We have an old 2UZFE engine on the stand that may work as a mock up for a kit.....

time will tell...

Still sold for a good price

Agreed...... that was a good price for a good looking setup. I am just too broke right now to buy anything much I guess..... I need to sell some parts and pieces to get my cruiser funds back up!

It was missing the thermostat housing which would be nearly impossible to find so ultimately good that you did not buy this unit.

The SC thermostat housing sticks out a little further and points off to the side some so the new serpentine belt won't interfere with the radiator hose. No way to mod the OEM thermostat housing with the SC that I'm aware of.

that is good info to know right there!!!!

I think it might be handy for someone who has a TRD supercharger setup (HINT, HINT) to take a picture of all the parts that are included or at least a list of all the parts that will be needed to do the swap.

Already listed in the SC newbie thread I wrote up.
