I have a 400 SBC with the stock 40 gauges. All has been fine and dandy but today I all of sudden had zero oil pressure. Motor runs great, plenty of oil....I think I lost my connection to the oil pressure gauge. The gauge doesn't move at all when i turn the key or start the engine. My question, where is the sending unit located on most SBC's. My SBC is early 80's/late 70's out of a Suburban if it matters. I had trouble trying to trace a wire from the back of the oil pressure gauge.

Back by the distributor...

Left hand side of the distributer probably just came un clipped. If they havent you should put a stock 2f sending unit in to gft a proper reading.

What is gft?

I found the sending unit, is actually located down by the oil filter. Wire was loose.
Thanks

I've got a similar set-up and problem, was wondering if anyone has a pix of what the "stock 2f" sending unit looks like?
