and I think I have the bug. Lets see, if I sell the 98 and the 89, I might have 2/3's the price . . . or I could . . .

I debated that too. I could lose the 100 and the 80 and build an FJ...but I have an 80 built, and it is paid for. The 100 is only down to sub 15k owed...why start over? :)

It's a sickness . . .

with the offroad pckage, its around 28K. Add ARB, $29K. Its just such an appropriate color! (Finally) Must buy more lotto tickets . . .

Or you could buy mine and take Kunz's line at Gulches. Comes out the same color with a nice matte finish to boot.
The 40 and one of the 100s would get you very close.

I will be buried in the 40!

but your math is right on Bill. Here are some pictures I took this morning before the sales guys arrived . . .

I will be buried in the 40! He sez.

Gee I hope not anytime soon! ! !

If the color is right in these pics it's considerably lighter than I expected.
Gulches mud is much closer to the army desert tan, like you see some humvees etc in convoys on the road.

When I see a stock FJC now I think; "What a waste, could be a good dirt dog there with a little work."
A few years from now when used ones are out there for under ten the ORV world will be covered with them.
If there's anywhere left to trail that is.

Ugly....was hoping when you said tan it was going to be a little darker than that....that one just looks too white for me. Now I like the white 40's. The black trim doesn't look right with that color tone.....any other new colors this year?

Its desert tan, the problem is with my cheap camera

looks very close to the 1982 color. Here's a better picture (with appologies to Toyota).

I saw one on Friday and was a bit dissapointed. It is a metalic instead of a semi-gloss or flat and just did not live up to what I had expected of it.

Toyota's color choice is just too pale/yellowish.

THIS GUY got it right. He posted this up back in January before the new colors were ever announced (on the FJ forum). But he opted for the shiny look, instead of flat. He also moved the color up to the roof crease, just behind the suicide doors. And he painted the bezel white.

"This is the same enamel paint and color used the original FJ-40 and Chris is painting in a two stage process. Enamel color coat and then a clear enamel coat to make it look shiny and wet."
