Don't believe this for a minute. Not sure what market you are in but the demand in the DC Metro area should ensure that won't happen here anytime soon. The dealer closest to my office has decided they are going to run a "bidding war" for all of their FJ stock. Prospective buyers must submit the most they are willing to pay over MSRP and the dealer will sell to the highest bidders.

Mini dealers are still getting MSRP on a vehicle that has been on the market for three years relatively unchanged. Supply and demand should make sure no one will be paying below MSRP for the entire first year of production.

Ok, my bad. Wait a year and get one for a lot less than MSRP :)

How about wait 2 years and get the one the sorority girl traded in on a new bimmer for A WHOLE LOT less than MSRP?

Prices will really depend on how long there will be a big demand for them. Look at the new Mustangs, they still sell for over MSRP well over a year after introduction. If you can wait for 2 years or so and buy a new or 2nd hand one. The new ones will be upgrated from the current ones and with less bugs, while the 2nd hand one will be a lot cheaper with low miles.

Let me guess, this is Jim Coleman Toyota? Either way JC had a list going and ditched the people on it in favor of a bidding war. I don't care how much I might want a FJC there is no way I would do business with a dealer that would pull this.

That would indeed be Jim Coleman Toyota behind Montgomery Mall and I agree with you. If they were the last Toyota dealer on earth I would have to switch brands, that is how much I dislike them.

Since my office is within walking distance I still like to visit a few times a year just to remind them of that fact. I got quite a laugh when they told me of their plans on how they would sell the FJ Cruisers.

A guy I know was first or second on their list. Needless to say he was pretty pissed when he got that phone call.
