Great drive, beautiful scenery. Sometimes when I've worked too much I go take that drive to get away to get out of town. Great thread. You've got me thinking about those coconut shrimp at Ale Works. Subscribed.

Alright, I'm driving my Cruiser to Bozeman...and gettin' me a harem :D

LOL. You are a wise man, Sir!

Ok, so egg rolls it is then .... Guess it's a Western thing , lol .
Yes, more than one woman is trouble . Scratch that , my one woman is way more than trouble , for nearly 25yrs now....

Lee, you have a true set of Brass Ones, to be taken into the remote of this country with a harem in charge...

Wow! I stumbled onto this a day ago and just now skipped to here to see if it had ended or was still in-progress. Now I not only have the pleasure of continuing from page 6 onward (my pages have 50 posts each), but I am thrilled to see that I'll have more by the time I get up to page 16. Love the Tech, locales, food, music, family, life, etc...

As I recall, you get a discount if you wear Cateye glasses to the Cateye Cafe. I went to college in Bozeman and am hoping to return there after law school. These chapters just make me miss it all that much more.

If there are any serious Jimmy Buffett fans out there you might know that his brother in law, the writer Thomas McGuane, lives in Livingston, MT, or in that area. A lot of songs Buffett wrote, including Come Monday, are based on this area. I dragged the family over to Ringling, MT last summer and played the song "Ringling, Ringling" over and over. It truly is a dying little town. It's just a few miles north of Wilsall.

Lee, If you come this direction during the summer for the Alaska trip, I hope you're able to drive the Beartooth Highway. It's between Red Lodge, MT and Yellowstone National Park. Might as well stop in Cooke City, MT and run up Lulu or Daisy Pass while you're there. Unbelievable views and wilderness.

For those travelers who might pass through Missoula, MT and want some fresh Moose Drool, you should know you can get free beer at the brewery here right off the interstate. Not much, but you get 4 little glasses free per day of whatever they have on tap. That often includes brewery-only options. I may have to go out there more often.

Looking forward to the next chapter, especially since I live in Missoula.

Thanks Lee!

Let's see, I'm drinking better beer, reading better literature, listening to better music, driving my FJ40 to more interesting places and appreciating my parents even more..............

I think this thread has changed my life. Thanks for expanding our minds Lee.

Well said! My thoughts exactly!

ok, here ya go:

Amazon.com: christoper cook robbers

FYI, I just ordered myself a used copy of this book. It's one of the few that I will keep in my library, meaning that I will read it again.. (I wouldn't let my GF read my dad's copy because she dog ears pages, I'll let her dog ear this one, it's an ex library copy..)

Sorry for yet another side track.

Ok, so maybe the girl can't read this one, I just got my $5.98 copy from amazon, in beautiful condition, and get this..... freaking signed. I thought maybe it was one of those 'printed' sigs.. no, the ink bled through to the next page and you can see the indention.. how cool is that...

Sorry for the interruption. carry on..

a

please.... sir, may I have some more?

Sorry for the delay. I'm on the left coast, haven't had much writing time. The next chapter is a work in progress. With any luck I may have it finished by tomorrow.

Cruiser content: Maybe it's the location, but I've been in San Francisco for a week and haven't seen a single Land Cruiser, old or new, not even an Icon. Range Rovers are everywhere, but not a Cruiser to be found. I must be in the wrong part of California. :hmm:

Actually there's lots in the area. Many down the peninsula and south bay. If you were 80 miles ENE i could show you hundreds!

Huh, the last time I was there I went for a 40 minute walk and saw three 40s and a Pig, right in the busiest part of the city.

It has been a while since I have seen any in the city, although I don't go into SF that often. They don't seem to fit the demographics there. They get more common as you get away from the city. There are several here in Vacaville (about 50 miles away), but not as many as there used to be.
