WOW Carveacre Trail is no JOKE! I had looked at some photos and video online Friday night and knew it would be a bit of a challenge. Right at the start there are some deep moguls that keep the riff raff out. So it took us a bit of time since my buddy is a NEWB and this trail ended up being baptism by fire! I lead the way and being unlocked I had to choose my lines wisely and about a handful of times I had to backup and adjust my line for traction. But my 2" IronMan lift was working underneath and the springs were popping as they shifted keeping me from lifting a wheel too much. I encouraged my buddy not to use his lockers and to save them to get out of trouble but that went out the window after I had him use them once after rubbing a rocker on the dirt And loosing traction, I didn't want him to back up and try it again so I had him lock the rear and he walked right up. That is the first time I have seen lockers do there thing up close and I am pretty jealous I don't have them. He ended up locking the rear about 4 more times and I called him a cheater and 
every time mostly out of spite but because he is not understanding they are to get you out of trouble not into trouble.
Anyway we were both successful and had a nice lunch on top of pancake rock. Oh and by the way don't try to go out the back way to the neighborhood you will hit a locked gate so we went back out the way we came and saw an FJ Cruiser leading two nice 60 series cruisers up late in the afternoon. We also heard a decent hand canon firing away while we were on pancake rock so maybe there is a shooting range around back we can check out next time.

That trail is a lot of fun and close to home. Wish I could have joined you. A friend of mine ran Sandstone yesterday, so I missed out on two good runs. 
This is a fun trail, the rock garden area down to the west is a lot of fun as well. Hope they don't start locking the entry gate.

What rock garden? Is it West of Pancake rock?
Just past where you climb pancake is an open area and you can go left or right. We went right trying to go out the back way and hit the locked gate. I am guessing left will take you to where we heard the shooting come from.
