Reluctantly selling my 2003 black/tan Land Cruiser. Nicely built, turn key rig with a $11,000 service only 3,000 miles ago (new remote reservoir Kings, timing belt, etc. etc.). Needs nothing.
Current mileage: 130,876
$28,500.
All maintenance done and no corners cut with anything. Everything works great. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive this rig anywhere in the world tomorrow.
This truck was a replacement for my dearly departed 2004 Land Cruiser. I got sideswiped by a texting driver and rolled down a 6-7’ embankment in 2016. The truck was totaled but I didn’t have a scratch.
I immediately starting looking nationwide for a replacement 100 series but couldn’t find anything decent. As such, I pulled the trigger on a 2015 4Runner Trail. It was a nice truck but not a Land Cruiser. Cramped inside and build quality wasn’t up to the Land Cruiser standard.
Then this truck popped up on Craigslist in Palm Springs in January 2017. It was owned since new by a wealthy divorcee who babied it. It had 93k miles and was immaculate. I immediately pulled the trigger and as you can tell from the mods below, this was supposed to be a “forever” truck for me.
The 2003 LC has the five speed tranny, which is a big improvement over the four speed in older models IMO.
All mods were installed correctly by me or by the best shop in SoCal for Land Cruisers, The Truck Shop. Here is a list of the mods:

I’m still pulling together all the service records but here’s a partial list including a HUGE service last year. All maintenance since I’ve owned it has been done at The Truck Shop.
3/16/23
-500 mile checkup to double check installation of Kings and tighten everything,
-replace passenger rear window switch (buzzing sound),
-new master key
2/23/23
127,158 miles
This service was $10,900.
-New King shocks which gives about a 2” lift (the Kings are an absolute game changer, much nicer ride than OME lift which I’ve used for years. The only bad part about them (which my mechanic warned me about) is that once I had them installed, my wife would want them in her 2014. He was right!)

-new thermostat
-new water pump
-new timing belt
