All - crazy story here. Drove my 2004 LX470 home from work Friday, didn’t drive at all Saturday. Look outside and my car is ON FIRE. Thank god we were able to put it out but long story short, the passenger seat adjustment motor caught on fire and totaled.

Inside is burnt/smoky but rest of the truck is in great shape. Is there anyone who specializes in Salvaged cruisers? 140k miles on the truck so it was only a teenager…. Any advice on maximizing value as I’ll need to get something new to daily. Thanks…

That is a crazy story! I'm assuming the interior got sprayed with fire extinguisher(s)?

A few years ago I bought a wrecked F350 Lariat that had a burnt driver's seat. I think the same thing happened. I pulled the entire interior including the dash, headliner, everything. I had to clean every inch. I cleaned out the vent pipes, cleaned the needles in the gauges... Crazy.
Here's the before and after...

I wouldn't want to do it again but it can be done. Very labor intensive!

It can't be the motor. Probably the seat heater was stuck on. I am going to disconnect those on mine!

If you are willing to take a little lip from your wifey, you might consider parting that LX out in your driveway.
The very first time I attempted to part out a vehicle was with my wrecked Isuzu Trooper.
I was able to sell the Engine, Transmission, and various parts on Ebay and locally, and that was when
junk yards had a lot of Troopers in them, now they don't, and these 100's are way more scarcer.
Back then I purchased an Engine Hoist and Transmission Jack from Harbor Freight for the task, it was
a great learning experience about Troopers and if you intend to stay with these LX's and LC's you will learn a lot.
Course if you are like me you'll have boxes of small parts that will be useful even if it tends to take some of your
storage spaces.

My lumbar support motor got stuck, heated the wires badly and everything smelled like smoke while I was driving and luckily only blew the kick panel 40 amp fuse.

40 A for a motor, wow! The switch should be stuck on for the motor to go bad. My lumbar motor works sporadically. Isn't the 40A fuses are inside the engine bay?

Its the main 40 amp fuse on the left kickpanel that also feeds to the instrument cluster, door locks, windows and seat controls.
I was into a 3 hour drive and slightly adjusted the lumbar support, it move a little and the smoke smell started right away so I pulled over as fast as I could to grab the fire extinguisher. I unplugged it after that just in case
Im thinking just lack of use and the motor got stuck
