I'm in the quest for a front bumper. the biggest contenders at this point are the Dissent bumper and the ARB Sahara.
to those who has the Sahara with a winch on it, how do you access the clutch to unreel the cable fast?
Also, how do you do it on the Dissent?

Thanks in advance.

You stick your hand in through the top of the Sahara. I have a warning VR 10,000 winch and I would call the access adequate at best. The winch line is not readily or easily visible either.

After two years a very occasional use I was pretty happy with the Sahara. Then a few months ago after four days of dragging the hundred through the Vermont Overlund trophy, I am now seriously considering the slee blueberry bumper for it's super easy winch access and front mounted fairlead.

Thanks for your consideration!
On the dissent bumper there is an access hole right in front of the clutch, the cutout on the drivers side would be the clutch acsess and the one on the passenger side can typically be used for plugging in the control, the slot in the middle is for viewing the cable. I made these larger than you see on most for quick, easy access in a emergency situation. Also to maintain propper air flow. I believe the Sahara has a access hole as well.
Feel free to ask any questions to me or on my bumper thread!
Thanks.

A couple considerations with open top or top acsess winch bumpers.
#1, would be the uv exposure if you plan to run synthetic line rather than cable, the uv will eventually weeken the line causing possible failure.
#2, do you plan to bolt on any lights or light bar on top?
Most of the time on top acsess winches adding lights on top can make it much more difficult to almost impossible to get to the winch.
