We use a Payroll service and get paid correctly and on time each and every PP. I have a proposal in to the Sr Mgt team to completely out-source or eliminate our entire accounting department. Turn-about is fair play since they are usually the ones recommending the out-sourcing of IT.

It would seem that you wouldn't need washers or fear of failure if you used the clevis properly. Tree saver strap on the pin and the hook, snatch or other devise on the curve?!!!
Holy mudhole batman! What kind of shackle are you using that is too large to fit through the loops of a snatch strap? Or maybe the question should be; what kind of strap are you using that has such a small loop?

Or you could tack weld the washers together.
tow loop as in metal as on the 80 for example...
