Thought I had a rust free Prado but a rock chip uncovered some nasty rust on both rocker panels. Looks like the rear 6-8” of both rockers are rotten. Should I be trying to find a donor truck for rocker panels or is this something a shop can cut out and bend metal to fit?

You can buy new inner and outer rockers to chop up and splice in.
They're fairly inexpensive.
Good info, thanks man!

Yep pretty common on these. At this point, I'm more amazed at the 70's that DON'T have rust in the rockers.

Not to be debbie downer, but I wouldn't be surprised to find more bondo/rust in this rig.

Yeah I’m afraid of that. The rockers actually look like they may have been cut and repaired at some point. I can see some evidence of filler.

Found outer rocker panels on megazip but couldn’t find a part number for inner rockers. Any ideas where to look? Could be operator error on my part. Thanks again!
