Very impressive! I would consider aiming them down a bit so you get more light where you need it; otherwise lots will be lost to the sky?

Gtss...I have lots of light for my immediate forward vision...I like to light up the higher areas as it gives the eyes more of an allusion of daytime and I find it relaxes my vision a bit while night driving.

Same idea when driving at night and an approaching vehicle requires me to put my low beams on...once they've passed I turn my high beams on naturally. But what I've found is that for some reason I stare into the oncoming vehicles lights and then the transition between me being blinded by their low beams and me turning my high beams back on is a short period of time where my eyes are attempting to adjust but can't.
My solution is simple...just before the oncoming vehicle passes by me I take a long blink and then turn on my high beams once they've passed. It's like maybe half a second. But my eyes adjust easier because when they open my high beams are already on and the other vehicle has passed. It's like a hard reset for my eyes and I find it really helps in the transition.
But closing your eyes for a half second when a vehicle is about to pass by is dangerous right! We'll, I figure if they're gonna swerve into me at that proximity then I likely couldn't react in time anyways...so I roll the dice.

All that to say, I'm constantly learning how my eyes best respond during night driving.

The coolest new gadget for lites is a control box that is fully electronic and has a multitude of options, will turn lights off when sensing low voltage, will shut off lights when traveling faster than 40KM hour. I saw it on Rony Dahls utube channel.

Turn lights off if the battery gets too low... that’d make an alternator kicking the bucket exciting.

Decided to test out the recovery gear today. Used basically everything except the Jack-All. Winch, 3 recovery straps, tree saver, snatch block, Maxtrax (Princess Auto Brand...they worked!), exhaust air cushion (to help get off a mud covered log/stump we couldn't see until I slid up against it sideways, a bunch of shackles, and a winch cable recoil bag (in case cable snaps).

Winched in and winched out...good R&D day North Island.

Looks like a good day! Very cool. 😎
Where did this event occur?

@engineroom, yes, to both! Your 45 is coming along VERY nicely and Wes is an encyclopedia of information regarding all things offroad...and he wasn't shy to brag you up regarding how much of his knowledge came from you :). Thanks for investing in the next generation of us Cruiser heads!

@cruiserpilot, Campbell River area. Apparently just some usual daily spots...just the tip of the iceberg I'm told. I'll be heading back up that way again for sure...likely with my offroad trailer in tow though.

Glad to see someone out wheeling! I drove the rear wheels of my rental car off the asphalt
into the grass tonight here in Jacksonville at a restaurant. All the wheeling I’ve done.

1. I'm taking my alternator into BRAE on Monday. They seem very confident in being able to repair my diode pack in my 24v unit. Fingers crossed. Really nice folks there.

2. I bought a small utility trailer for behind the Cruiser as my original plan on the other trailer escalated into an off-road camping trailer...so I got this. But it had 13" wheels and would've sat on a wee bit of an angle behind the Cruiser, so I pilaged an axle from a different free trailer I'd got last year and used it to do an SOA and 5-bolt hubs so I could get larger tires.
Happened upon a decent deal on a set of wheels and tires this morning so I grabbed them and got to work.
After repainting the trailer, doing the axle swap (got a few new ubolts from Niko @ Island Spring), and welded new spring perches on, we had a roller!
Now I just need to wait for my (cough cough) made in China 24v trailer lights (which also have reverse lights) and I'll be legal.

I think it should serve me quite well actually.

Head gasket. Exhaust manifold leak. Wastegate holds zero back pressure. Since it’s gonna be sitting for awhile I must just splash some paint in it too :). Who knows!

Head is back on and valves are all lapped up.
I got my new “Mamba” Wastegate today. Interestingly enough, when I blow into the input pipe the air stops instead of just puking out the internal seal...maybe I’ll actually build some boost now!

Well, it’s all back together and runs like a champ. Runs smooth even before I did the valve adjustment.
Getting a slight bit more whistle but the power gains aren’t what I had hoped for...still pretty anemic imho.
Maybe time for an intercooler and turn up the fuel??? Probably not...I’ll just drive it because it’s still great
