About to have frame, axles and springs sandblasted. What are some of the best options to go with as far as painting/coating and economical options to go with? Do they all need to be done by a paint shop? should frame be sealed or primed after blasting before coatings?
Also, as far as undercoating for tub, having it blasted as well, what is best, traditional undercoating or some type of bed liner material? Same question, prime/seal before coating and how quick after sandblasting does this need to be done?

If you look at some of the restore threads you will see that yes the frame should be covered/sealed once you are done blasting it.
Whether or not it needs to be done by the shop is up to you and your confidence with your own skills. There are plenty of guys who have cleaned up their frames themselves and done all the work.

Look at products like POR15, RustBullet, Monstaliner ChassisSaver, etc to coat the frame after you are done.

For the bedliner question for the tub. Really that, again, is up to you. Many guys use bedliner on the bottom of their bodies, some just primer and spray. Either way you need something under there with proper prep. If you go with the liner, you will definitely want to prep properly and probably lay a primer down.

Look into the different prep methods and you will see what needs to be done for your rig. GL and post pics!

I don't know what I am doing since this is also my first time doing what you are going to do.

I power wire brushed the frame down myself and have painted it with Rust Bullet.

Doing the same with the floor of the tub and other things under there.

Since have had the axles rebuilt prior, I will wire brush it them down, use Zero Rust on them and then covered with Rust Bullet shell. Not perfect, but somewhat protected.

Best results will be with a clean, blasted frame followed by epoxy primer and quality 2k paint.

There is no point in using POR, Rust Bullet, etc... If you're sandblasting the frame. They're not going to give you the quality results that epoxy primers and paint will.

The bottom of the tub really comes down to personal preference. A lot of people like the clean look of a bedlined tub bottom. Others like undercoating. Either way, clean to bare metal and epoxy prime for best results. Follow with topcoat of your choice.

You always want to prime bare steel as soon as possible after blasting.

Every time I make a trip to my media blaster I see frames with axles still under them so they can roll them around. I even see antique farm tractors "rolled" in and blasted. I never blast any housings that will contain moving parts like bearings and gears.
