I need to address several areas of creeping rot, thanks Ohio winters! Problem is I am in an apartment and all of my real tools are 12 hours away. Are there sanding/grinding attachments for cordless drills? I looked in the big-box stores and they had nothing. Areas are around two wheel wells and back window. If I can get them sanded, I have POR to apply and plan to finish it off with a coating of monstainer. Any advice is most welcome. Thanks in advacne

Any of the 1/4" shank die grinder attachments will chuck into an electric drill easily. Your RPM is very limited though so choose abrasives like sanding disks, flap wheels etc, although I imagine a wire wheel would do fine as well. I think your paint plan is solid as long as the por 15 and monstaliner play well together.

Yeah, I bought a few attachments at autozone. Worked fine to get some surface rust off. They had plenty of different options. Wire wheels, grinding discs, etc

The only tool I can't do without is my 4.5 inch angle grinder. They even make cordless ones now.

I had a spot of rust on the lower door jam (not that deep but...) and took it completely off with Evaporust, some paper towels and plastic wrap. You just soak the towels in the liquid, place it on the rust and cover. In the morning the rust was completely gone and all that was left was shiny metal. I've since used it to restore a badly rusted vintage bicycle for a friend. It removed much deeper rust from the chrome handlebars, leaving behind deep shiny pits, but no rust at all. There was a lot of pretty deeply rusted metal and this took it all off. Got it in Autozone.

Have to agree with this and with them being so cheap at HF, think I got mine with a deadman switch for $35, you can pick up one and an extension cord for less than $75. Do this and some of the zirconia HF Warrior flap discs or hamburger (big abrasive pancake looking things) and you are good to go. Then once everything is off you can go after it with your POR but I would talk with MagnetMan to ensure it will play nice with Monstaliner.
