is there any way to kill it?

Mitch

i dont think you can kill it, but you can retard it.
i fed an electrical snake through my rails, and ties a duct cleaning brush to it, along with another piece of steel cable to the other end of the brush. I was able to pull the brush back and forth, hopefully scraping out all the loose rust, and there was A LOT! . it came out of every hole in the frame, and littered my driveway.
then i blew it out the best i could with a compressor. then, this is the best part.
I bought one of those pump-up garden sprayers. i futzed around witht he end, and put a piece of rubber fishtank hose on the end, long enough to go through the length frame. i clamped the sprayer head on the end of the hose, set it on wide angle, and pumped away with por15. I think it got the whole frame, since it came out of all the wholes.
i also did it to the shock mount too.

Just be careful aerosolizing POR15.

Land Rovers have had thin gauge full box frames since the 40s. The way they've handled it is periodic applications of Waxoyl, just a proprietary rustproofing, which works adequately. At least consistently Waxoyled examples survive pretty well in a awful wet enviroment when w/o they dont. Search for Waxoyl.

I POR'd my Land Rover 109 frame - should have just galvanized it tho.

Sounds like some good ideas so far, but the best one I ever heard was from the guy that welded up my frame. He said his father uses some type of gun that hooks up to an air compressor and can spray motor oil in a fine mist. He just hoses down the inside of the frame with oil once or twice a year and never had any problems except for where he couldn't get to. Shouldn'e be a problem with the cruiser frame, theres holes all over the place.
