Got a couple I'm working on now. It's amazing what happens when you start pecking at those little spots with a pick hammer. Heres what I'm doing:

Welding in new patches, then going back afterward and drilling 3/8 holes along the roofline. Then blasting in ospho with a parts washer hose with a pickup tube into the holes. Then a day later doing the same with POR15. Then welding the holes back up

Thanks, Looks like a fun job. I thoiught i would probably have to do someting like this
Cheers.

How much rust are we talking about? There are a couple of different options out there, depending on how much rust you have. For starters, you probably ought to scrap out all the old seam sealer and find out how much rust damage you actually have. Is the rust just in the seam areas of the gutters, or has it spread upwards to the roof? There are several different rust treatment products out there that work really well. For small holes, you can dremel out the rusted areas and fill with a fiberglass/kevlar filler. They make both a long-hair and a short-hair strand filler. For larger areas, you are better off cutting out and replacing the metal. It's a pain-in-the-ass job to do, but if you scrap everything out, kill the rust, and reseal the rain gutters properly, you shouldn't have any more problems during the life of you cruiser.
