Rust free 78’ project FJ40 for sale:
***Please bear with me as I am not 100% up on my terminology etc., I purchased this project from a relative with the intent to complete it. I have made really no progress as I am busy with other projects and a change of jobs.
I’ll spare the sob story and get to the details…
Build date= April of 77’ And I have the Title in hand.
This 40 started as a frame off restoration. Frame was really good to start and was sand blasted and then epoxy painted. It is now solid and rust free.
Aqualu 1st generation Aluminum tub is installed from firewall back.
All other body panels are solid steel and primed, (no bondo).
2F motor has had head rebuilt with 1 valve/valve seal replaced. Downey emissions header and 2.5” exhaust, (all new). Motor, trainy etc. is all installed, but there is work to complete in motor compartment. This is the stock 4speed standard.
Land Cruiser solutions suspension correction kit with 2.5” lift shackle reversal kit all installed. Has nice set of Toyota alloy wheels with 31” BFG tires.
Rear axle has some surface rust, that is really the only rust to speak of. Front looks good and I think it was rebuilt.
Set of Volvo leather seats with nice adjustment features and heated!, but they do have a few rips, I think they are in OK shape.
Good solid gas tank.
Has some of power steering system installed, rest of parts are included.
Some new parts:
Metal Tech Full cage, (still in package).
Toyota Brake Master Cylinder, (installed).
Aluminum diamond plate side steps.
Steel, diamond plate side protection plates for under doors.
Soft top & soft doors, (were never installed, but have been in storage a while).
A lot of new small parts, tail and head lights. A lot of boxes full of stuff that goes with it.
This will make an excellent rig for someone that has the time and skills to complete it. Come and see it, ask me questions. Located in central CT.
