There has been discussion on what type of winch to install.
Just to let you know. don't buy a Runva. They are crap!
I had one i only used a few times in the winter,
just to raise an lower a snow blade.
Runva didn't tell me these winches should not be used outside.
The pot metal, the motor case was made of, turned to powder.
The paint fell off. A magnet came loose and broke.
No more winch.
When I told Runva what had happened and that it would
be a good jester to replace the motor for me, they would not correspond
With me any more. would not answer my phone calls, emails, or letters.
Their office is in China, and they are no good to do business with!!!

Not necessarily spam. Some people feel a duty to spread the word when they feel wronged. When I was researching winches I called Runva a few times and ALWAYS got voicemail. They always called back but then again I was a potential sale. My point is if there was a problem they didn't want to deal with all they'd have to do is not call back. It's not like they have a US office.
That said, snow plowing is brutal on equipment. There was probably a lot of road salt involved and I'm sure that didn't help.

Yeah, he sent me a PM as well with this exact comment as above. I'm about to leave on a week long backroad trip. I have every
expectation of using my new Runva winch as we are going into some nasty crap. If it fails, and I have no expectation of that happening, I'll be sure to deal with it and let everyone know what happened. I've had way too many positive comments to worry too much about one nay-sayer.

I've used my Runva 12k plenty of times and it has yet to let me down.
